Day 70: X Stretch
1I like to call this the calm before the storm. Well, it’s actually the calm after the storm too. It’s the perfect opportunity to stretch out all my sore muscles and get them ready for the week ahead. I am still noticing flexibility gains. For example in the split-legged hamstring stretch my hands used to be several inches of the ground. Now I can get my fingertips down to the floor. Chest & Back tomorrow. That was the one that kicked my ass two weeks ago when I started the 3rd training block. I’m determined to kick it’s ass this time!
Day 69: Kenpo X
03 weeks to go now! This week has definitely been one of the most exhausting weeks of this program. I’m happier than ever to have a day to just stretch tomorrow before heading down the final stretch. I think once I hit 90 days I will take a week or two off and then either start it up again until vacation or do a modified round. I need to see how I feel after and if I can make it through this round! Oh, Kenpo went well as usual. I don’t find this workout to be very intense despite doing more reps with more power.
Day 68: Legs & Back; Ab Ripper X
2I was happy with today’s workouts. I wasn’t really looking forward to Legs & Back tonight but it went surprisingly well. I actually noticed some bigger gains with all the pullup bar moves which was unexpected. My legs felt pretty strong for the whole workout and my energy level was good throughout. I got a cramp in the final pullup moves but that didn’t stop me.
Day 67: Yoga X
1My body is really feeling beaten up this week. I can’t wait for a day off. I thought Yoga was going to be a “relief” today but I was a teeny bit wobbly on some things. However, I was able to get up in crane for almost 10 seconds at one point! Never did that before. My least favorite workout is tomorrow. Legs and back. Ugh.
Day 66: Back & Biceps; Ab Ripper X
0My chest is still sore from Monday’s workout. I realized earlier that I think it’s because I used pushup bars for the first time and I must have gotten much deeper than past workouts. My body overall today is feeling pretty beat up. The ab workout today was a bit tough just because I didn’t have a lot of energy. I powered through back and biceps and improved in many areas. I even did some corn cob pullups without a chair. However, I did have to put my feet on the ground between them to get a teeny second of rest before pulling back up again. I can’t believe I’m going to type this but I’m actually looking forward to yoga tomorrow!
Day 65: Plyometrics
0This was definitely my best plyometrics workout thus far. No pausing. No stopping. No slowing down. I went full steam ahead and even added a few things to make some of the moves harder. My heart was pumping like crazy for an hour. The last week has been really good (knock on wood). I hope I can keep the momentum going for the last 25 days.
Day 64: Chest, Shoulders & Triceps; Ab Ripper X
0What a difference a week makes. Today’s workout went incredibly better than last Monday. Although I still can’t do a one-armed pushup, I increased my reps or weight on all the exercises. In fact on the ab workout, I decided to use a small weight while doing the Mason Twists to make them a little harder. Today was one of the first days I did the ab workout right after the main workout. I took a 5 minute break in between though. It’s a little harder doing it after another workout since your body is already pretty tired. However, I did most of the advanced moves and feel really good right now.
