Spring is here, time for a change
I’ve decided to take a break from P90X for awhile because I want to take advantage of the warmer weather after work. Right now, I have a half hour at lunch that I’m not using for anything so I plan on hitting the gym at work and getting an overall body workout in 3 times per week. On a couple of weeknights and weekends I hope to maybe get some jogging, hiking or basketball time in. Also, on rainy days I can throw in some of the P90X workouts like Plyo. Right now it’s too hard to commit to a 60+ minute workout after work. When fall approaches and outdoor activities subside, I can get another true round of P90X in. In the meantime, I’m going to play around a bit with my schedule and see what works.
That being said, yesterday I went to the gym with a friend and did a full body strength workout using some exercises I’ve never tried before. Afterwards we went out for a 30 minutes jog…although I must admit due to some of the hills and my lack of aerobic exercise lately ended up being a fast walk at points. The good news is that I haven’t gained any weight back, especially after eating like a pig on vacation a week or so ago. I’m sure I’ve lost a bit of strength but I think I can maintain it with my new plan. We’ll see what happens as the spring and summer roll along.
