Day 75: Legs & Back; Ab Ripper X
0This morning’s ab workout went great. I know some people say this one is hard and a real killer but over the last several weeks it has gotten “easier” for me. It was definitely intense in the beginning but at this point I seem to breeze through it and I’m not cheating!
Just finished up Legs & Back. This one is just so hard and draining and it sucks that it falls on a Friday for me. I pushed extra hard on this one today and sweat like crazy. I felt more wiped out than the Plyo workout. Now I have two days of fun workouts ahead of me; Kenpo tomorrow and Stretch on Sunday.
Day 74: Yoga X
0Today’s workout went pretty well. The first half was really strong. I got a little shaky on the Half Moon pose on my left leg. In fact my left leg was a little shakier than normal in some of the other balance poses. I’m really noticing another surge in flexibility. I can now stand with my feet together and with straight legs I can touch the floor. Also I noticed being able to reach farther in other stretches. Getting closer to the 90 day mark. Can’t wait to take some time off!
Day 73: Shoulders & Arms; Ab Ripper X
1Today’s workout was a complete waste of time. Being pissed off and tired from the start doesn’t help. I should have just packed it in but I left the DVD going and went through the motions. I figured that was better than nothing. This was one workout that I really needed to do well and my head just wasn’t there today. Oh well.
Day 72: Plyometrics
0I wasn’t feeling all that excited tonight about working out. I made it through the workout and kept up with it the whole time but just felt a little off for some reason. I found myself really looking at the timer and hoping that it would move faster. But it’s all done now. 18 days to go until “graduation”.
Day 71: Chest & Back; Ab Ripper X
0This was the workout that killed me two weeks ago. I did a lot better with it today. I needed to pause if for a couple minutes about 40 minutes into it though. In the past, I would do as many unassisted pullups as I could and then use the chair for the remaining seconds. Today I decided to ditch the chair altogether. Instead, I would take a few seconds break after the unassisted one and then just try to squeak out a few more during the remaining time of each set. Also, this was the second workout that I used the pushup bars. Using them must be harder since I wasn’t able to do as many reps with them. However, I have a feeling they were more effective since I seem to get a little deeper when I used them. The ab workout was great. I really feel I’ve mastered that one pretty well at this point. Each time I do it I try to add some element to make it a little harder. I’m convince I have abs of steel underneath the remaining layer of flab on my belly!
Day 70: X Stretch
1I like to call this the calm before the storm. Well, it’s actually the calm after the storm too. It’s the perfect opportunity to stretch out all my sore muscles and get them ready for the week ahead. I am still noticing flexibility gains. For example in the split-legged hamstring stretch my hands used to be several inches of the ground. Now I can get my fingertips down to the floor. Chest & Back tomorrow. That was the one that kicked my ass two weeks ago when I started the 3rd training block. I’m determined to kick it’s ass this time!
Day 69: Kenpo X
03 weeks to go now! This week has definitely been one of the most exhausting weeks of this program. I’m happier than ever to have a day to just stretch tomorrow before heading down the final stretch. I think once I hit 90 days I will take a week or two off and then either start it up again until vacation or do a modified round. I need to see how I feel after and if I can make it through this round! Oh, Kenpo went well as usual. I don’t find this workout to be very intense despite doing more reps with more power.
