Day 63: X Stretch

0

My body was a little tight this morning when I first started this but as the hour went on I was pretty loose. Good overall stretch today. All the hard stuff starts up again tomorrow. Since last Monday’s workout was so disappointing, I’m hoping tomorrow will go better.

Day 62: Kenpo X

I kicked this workout up a notch this morning. I never really found it challenging in a cardio-wise, especially during the punching series. So I picked up the pace a bit and did more reps on many of those exercises than the people on the video. I also really kicked and punch HARD like I was trying to hurt someone and that intensity also seemed to help. It was a good workout. My body is definitely feeling a bit spent this week so as usual I’m looking forward to a relaxing stretch day tomorrow.

Day 1 & Day 60 Comparison Pictures

Ok, so maybe it’s actually Day 62 but close enough! I don’t know about anyone else but I can definitely tell a difference all around. I was shocked to see some muscles in my back and also surprised how much my stomach has shrank. I’m looking forward to seeing how the next 30 days will treat me.

Day 61: Legs & Back; Ab Ripper X

0

I almost didn’t do Legs & Back today. I was feeling tired today and was just going to do Sunday’s X Stretch today and then do Legs & Back tomorrow. However, after I got back from dinner I decided to suck it up and do Legs & Back. Although I hate this workout I survived and I’m glad I did it. Ab workout this morning went awesome.

The Day 60 Progress Report

3

Overall I have to say that I’m satisfied with the progress that I’ve made over the last 30 days. December was a tough month with the holidays and all. Lots of good food and goodies to eat. However, I did my best to eat moderately and managed to not gain any weight over this time. I did manage to lose about 1% body fat and another .75 inches off my waist. When I started my waist was 35.5 inches and now it is 33.5 inches. For the most part I have improved in all of the workouts. Some have become “easy”, others manageable and others are still really hard. I definitely feel much stronger and can see muscles moving around under my skin. Actually I am beginning to also see an outline of my abs developing. The only disappointment I have is that I thought I might have gained more muscle by this point. To be fair, I haven’t followed the diet plan outlined in the P90X nutrition guide. I have been eating sensibly though and have tried to follow some of the guidelines. I have also been supplementing with some protein powder, particularly on days with strength workouts. I’m hoping to see bigger improvements in this final month but I have a feeling I might need another round of P90X to get to where I would like to be.

I did a round of Yoga today but didn’t have a chance to take my 60 day pictures. I’ll probably get to that on Saturday morning when I have more time. Today’s Yoga workout was the best one I’ve ever had. My flexibility seemed to have jumped so much just since the last time and I was able to do some positions I couldn’t before, or do existing ones better. And my balance was really on point today too. It was a great way to punctuate Day 60!

Overall this was a good month but I’m hoping for bigger gains during this last 30 days.

Day 59: Shoulders & Arms; Ab Ripper X

Today was another great workout. It was my first strength workout since the miserable one I had 2 days ago and this one went smoothly. I was able to either increase the reps or weight on all the exercises over the last time I did this workout. My biceps looks so pumped up when I was done. Why can’t they stay that way all the time?

Day 58: Plyometrics

0

Today’s workout was MUCH better than yesterday. Although my chest and back is a bit sore from yesterday’s pathetic workout, plyometrics went really well. I tried to push it extra hard today to make up for yesterday. Working out later in the day after being properly hydrated and nourished I think makes a difference for me. Working out as soon as I get out of bed is not the best idea, particularly with the strength workouts.
