Day 8: Chest & Back; Ab Ripper X
0I’m not really site today and had a good workout. I did the ab work in the morning when I woke up and did the chest and back program before lunch. I was impressed that I was able to do more pushups than last week and also was able to squeak out a few extra pullups. Overall I was kind of impressed with myself today. 🙂
Day 6: Kenpo X
0It was nice getting Day 6 behind me so early in the day. Today’s workout was fun. It was called Kenpo X and was basically a karate cardio video. The time went by really fast. Of course Zach was there to critique my form since he thinks he’s a karate pro. Tomorrow is either a rest day or I can do the stretch video. Since I’m not terribly flexible I think I’ll give the stretch video a shot.
Day 5: Legs & Back; Ab Ripper X
0Instead of resting today I decided to workout when I got home from work. I did the legs and back workout which was tougher than I thought considering you didn’t really need to use weights. After that I needed to eat. Then a little bit later I did the ab workout but my lower body was so exhausted it was a challenge. Now it’s time to relax and watch the UCONN game!!!
Day 4: Yoga X
0Just finished up a 90 minute yoga workout. The most yoga I’ve ever done was about 20 minutes on the Wii Fit so this was a challenge. Some of the poses were impossible to do and would have led to me falling into the TV. However, a bunch of the stretches though felt really good. I think I’ll be taking tomorrow off since I won’t have time to get a workout in but will pick up with Legs and Abs on Saturday morning.
Day 3: Shoulders & Arms; Ab Ripper X
0My upper body is still a little sore from Monday’s workout but not too bad. I definitely feel some soreness in my hamstrings from yesterday’s plyometrics. This morning I woke up at 6:30 and immediately got the Ab Ripper X workout done before work. Then as soon as I got home I did the hour long Shoulder & Arms workout. At this point I think every part of me feels some pain. I thought I was in decent shape before starting this but apparently I was wrong. 87 days to go!
Day 2: Plyometrics
0My upper back and lats are definitely quite sore today. But it’s a good, satisfying sore because I know even though I struggled through my workout yesterday it is having some sort of effect. Tonight I did the hour long plyometrics workout which was pretty tough too. I had to modify a few things in it but not too much. They had something in there called Rock Star Hops which when done correctly should look like a rock star leaping in the air with their feet kicked back while making a big guitar strum. Well, my rock star hops looked more like Steven Tyler falling off a stage. I’m happy that I made it through and the hot shower afterwards was quite satisfying. Day 2 is in the record books. Shoulders and arms tomorrow.
