Yoga X
1Good yoga workout this morning. I did pretty well today with the balance postures. One thing I’ve noticed is during Tree when Tony says that he fell out that always seems to mess with me. I look the other way so I don’t fall as well. I don’t mind his talking throughout the workout because at this point I find myself not watching it but just listening for the cues. It would be great though if he would shut up during the balance postures because I think I could hold them better without his yapping! 🙂
Shoulders & Arms
0It’s only been a few days but it feels like forever since my last workout. I had a good Shoulders and Arms workout today. I just did one set but worked hard to give it 110% during it. Actually I am finding I work even harder on each exercise when I know I only have one set of it to do. Since each muscle groups gets about 4 different exercises I don’t feel like I’m losing much here.
Abs and Guitar?
0Since I am not really doing a true second round of P90X, I think I’m going to stop counting the days like I am. I successfully completed round 1 without missing or modifying the workout schedule but due to schedule issues and other things going on, I don’t have the same time to commit right now. I plan on getting at least 5 workouts in per week but it may vary and I will mix them up a bit.
That being said, I did my ab workout this morning and was hoping to do Shoulders & Arms when I got home from work. However, I had to work a little later than normal and when I got home I was starving. After eating dinner, I wasn’t in the mood to workout and instead spent over an hour practicing guitar which I just started doing a few weeks ago. So between work, exercise, my new guitar hobby, coaching soccer soon and other springtime activities, I’ll need to find a balance between them all. I plan to get another full round of P90X in but that probably won’t be until the fall. Until then, I’ll be mixing and matching workouts which I’m sure will give plenty of muscle confusion, as well as confusion in general! 🙂
Day 12(R2): X Stretch
0I decided to switch workout today. Instead of Kenpo, I am doing tomorrow’s stretch. I’ll do Kenpo tomorrow. I was feeling more mellow today and since historically stretch has falled on Sundays for me it just felt like the better thing to do. I had one of my best stretch sessions yet. My legs felt really flexible today.
Day 11(R2): Legs & Back; Abs
0I worked out for a little over an hour today. I did the ab workout first, had a small breakfast and then went on to Legs & Back. I only did the first 12 exercises up to the first break. The next time I do this workout I’ll do the remaining ones. I did do the warmup and cool down so the whole Legs & Back routine still took nearly 40 minutes. I find myself pushing a little harder when I do these shortened workouts so I still feel I got a lot of benefit out of it.
